The Sweet Elm Cookbook Club is a monthly gathering for people who love cookbooks – not just for recipes, but for the stories, inspiration, and connection they bring to the table.  This event is for people who like to cook and or are learning to cook.  Perfect for a new bride or a Mom or Grandma with tips to share!   

Each month, we select a thoughtfully curated cookbooks and build an immersive experience around it.  Guests sign up to bring a dish out of the cookbook and then they bring their dish potluck style to the party.  We then gather to enjoy a tasting menu inspired by the book, sip themed cocktails or mocktails, and dive into relaxed, lively conversation about flavors, techniques, and the culture behind the cuisine. 

This is not a formal cooking class.  It’s a warm, social potluck style evening designed to feel like a dinner party with friends – where curiosity is encouraged, questions are welcome, and no one has to do the dishes.   

Guests can choose to just sign up to bring a dish (costs cover paper goods, alcohol and take-home containers).  Or, guests can choose to upgrade for an additional cost and will receive next month’s cookbook, and a swag bag of foodie finds curated from The Sweet Elm Scullery.  The value of the swag bag is valued at $60.  The charge simply covers the cost of the goodies. 

Cookbook Club is perfect for food lovers, curious home cooks, and anyone looking for a creative night out that feels both inspiring and indulgent.  Come solo, bring a friend, and make this your new monthly ritual. 

Whether we are traveling through Italy, Morocco, the American South, or beyond, each Cookbook Club is a chance to slow down, gather around the table, and savor something new – together.
